Edwards Cob Eco Buildings

Edwards Eco Building is a company based in Fleggburgh on the Norfolk Broads. Kate Edwards founded the company in 2005.

Kate previously trained as a sculptor at Camberwell Art College, London. After graduating from Camberwell in 1991 she directed her skills into interior design – running her own business 'Devastating Designs' in London for many years.

Interior design then developed into building as Devastating Designs took on more and more building work and started doing house renovations.

Kate has always been passionate about the environment and was looking into more sustainable ways of working when she discovered cob. After training in cob building with Ianto Evans and Linda Smiley in Ireland, she bought back her skills to England. Kate's unique combination of knowledge in sculpture and building means she and her team create buildings that are ultimately works or art as well as functioning, environmentally friendly structures.

Kate has also travelled around the world gathering inspiration for her company's cob creations. Her latest trip was to New Zealand where she ran cob courses and visited cob buildings in both the North and South Islands. Kate now runs many courses in the UK on how to build with cob - including week long courses on 'how to build your own cob house' and '1 day courses on how to build an earthen pizza oven / bread oven'. What can Edwards Cob & Eco Building do for you?

• We can design, plan and construct you a cob house, wall, garden studio, extension, office, bench, spiral staircase, or anything else you can imagine. There are few limits with cob


• We can teach you how to build with cob yourself. We run Courses on how to build your own house or studio from cob and we also run courses on how to build your own pizza oven from cob.


• We can also do a combination of the above. Where perhaps we do the more technical parts of your project like the foundations, the roof and help you to build the walls. Then you can add your own personalised features.
